Wizard Skin Terms of Use
Effective May 31, 2026. Last updated August 16, 2026.
These terms govern use of a Wizard Skin instance. The self-hosted operator should identify itself and any additional local rules. By using the service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be able to form a binding agreement and must be at least 13. If you are below the age of majority where you live, use requires legally sufficient guardian permission and supervision. Provide accurate account information, protect your credentials and recovery material, and promptly report suspected compromise.
2. The service
Wizard Skin provides Chats, Pocket, private Contacts, profiles, settings, calls, media, GIFs, location sharing, optional AI chat tools, encryption controls, safety tools, notifications, and announcements. Features are experimental and may change, fail, or be unavailable.
The service is not an emergency system, legal-notice channel, regulated archive, medical or financial tool, or guaranteed backup. Do not rely on delivery, read indicators, message expiry, encryption, location, AI output, or calls for high-risk decisions.
3. Your content and permissions
You retain rights in content you submit. You grant the operator the limited permission needed to store, process, transmit, transform, back up, moderate, and display that content as directed by you and as required to operate and protect the service.
You must have the rights and permissions needed to upload, send, record, or share content, files, voice, video, and location information. Obtain consent before recording calls or disclosing another person's information. Recipients may copy or retain what you send.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use Wizard Skin to:
- break the law or another person's rights;
- harass, threaten, exploit, stalk, impersonate, defraud, or discriminate;
- distribute malware, phishing, spam, illegal content, or non-consensual intimate material;
- evade blocks, suspensions, invite controls, moderation, rate limits, or security measures;
- probe or disrupt accounts, encryption keys, infrastructure, or other users' data without authorization;
- misuse calls or location sharing for surveillance, emergencies, or non-consensual recording.
5. Encryption, expiry, and AI
End-to-end and server-managed encryption reduce some risks but do not guarantee confidentiality, identity, deletion, availability, or legal privilege. Keep recovery codes and private keys secure. Losing required key material may make encrypted content unrecoverable.
Expiry, delete, leave, and undo controls may not erase recipient copies, backups, logs, notifications, or legal records immediately. Synced drafts are not a permanent document store.
AI output can be inaccurate or unsafe and is not professional advice. Review it before sending and do not submit information you are not authorized to share with the configured provider.
6. Moderation and administration
Users may report accounts and messages. Operators and moderators may investigate, restrict, suspend, remove, preserve, or disclose content and accounts when reasonably needed for safety, security, support, enforcement, or law. Administrative access may be audited. The operator is not required to monitor every communication or restore removed content.
7. Third-party services
Optional hosting, storage, email, push, GIF, map, AI, TURN, and realtime providers have their own terms and privacy practices. The operator does not control external links or providers and is not responsible for their availability or content.
8. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, Wizard Skin is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness, accuracy, security, non-infringement, delivery, recoverability, or compatibility. The operator and contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or lost-data damages arising from use of the service, except where liability cannot legally be limited.
You are responsible for your use, content, devices, configuration, recipients, and compliance obligations. You agree to indemnify the operator and contributors from third-party claims caused by your unlawful use or violation of these terms, to the extent permitted by law.
9. Ending use and changes
You may stop using the service and use account-deletion controls where available. The operator may suspend or end access for risk, abuse, nonpayment, maintenance, legal requirements, or discontinuation. Provisions that logically survive termination remain in effect.
Material changes should be announced and reflected by a new update date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
